What is CVE?

What is CVE?

A CVE is a numerical designation for an entry in a database that provides definitions of publicly available vulnerabilities in the field of cybersecurity. The goal of the database is to facilitate data sharing across different vulnerability reporting platforms (tools, databases, and services) for ethical hackers through the published CVEs. CVE entries consist of an identification number, a description, and at least one public reference.
